If you want to connect your Xbox 360 console to Xbox Live and you do not have a router, you can connect your console to your Windows computer and use its Internet connection. Note Windows Internet Connection Sharing may not work on Windows 8.1 when the PC network is connected by using the Point to Point Protocol (PPP). My xbox 360 used to connect to my laptop without any problems. i ddnt even hav to configure any settings or start a setup or smthin, i jus conected directly. btw i HAD at that time windows xp home edition and conected thru wmp11. then i started having problems after instaling a program then my computer wudnt start anymor. so i repaired my computer with a cd caled "Windows XP Pro N Version 2002
